Commissioned by A Thing About Machines Festival, exhibited at the  Herbert Art Gallery Coventry, Sept 2008.
A sonic re interpretation of the process of manufacturing, and an exploration of sound as a
by-product of the manufacturing process, using location recordings made at LTI, the makers of Black Taxi Cabs, one of the last outposts of manufacturing in Coventry.
The speakers were arranged in a line, echoing a manufactoring production line  ‘a set of sequential operations established in a factory  whereby materials (here, location recordings) are put through a refining process to produce an end-product’, in this case, the sound installation. The movement of sound traveled along the line of speakers, with randomly selected loops of sound creating an endlesy changing composition.
